The BAND App Cyber Feis — a family guide

A friendly, step-by-step guide for parents and dancers competing in an Enchanted Feis, from registration to the big day.

What's a “Cyber Feis”?

A cyber feis is an Irish dance competition that happens live at our home base in Erie, PA — with remote competitors joining by streaming into the event or submitting their dances digitally. The whole thing is broadcast through the BAND App, so dancers and families can be part of the action no matter where they are.

Ways to compete: dance live in Erie, stream into the event, or submit digitally.
What you'll need: a device with the BAND App (phone, tablet, or computer), a stable internet connection, a clear performance space with good lighting, and your dancer's costume & shoes ready to go.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Register before the deadline

    Pick your feis on enchantedfeis.com and complete registration before the entry deadline (usually 8 days before the event). Late entries aren't accepted, so mark the date!

    Join the BAND App

    Once registered, you'll receive instructions to join the event channel in the BAND App. This is where the live stream happens.

  3. 3

    Set up your performance space

    Clear the floor of anything that could trip or distract, make sure lighting is bright and even (face your dancer, not behind them), and test your camera angle so judges can see full movement.

    Tune in on feis day

    Open the BAND App, find your event's live stream, and watch the action. Results, scores, and awards are shared through the feis as they happen.

    Celebrate!

    Awards are posted for every event, so your dancer's hard work gets its moment in the spotlight.

Being backlit makes you a silhouette on camera. Put your light source in front of the dancer.

Stand at a distance where full body movement is visible to the judges.

Do I need special equipment to watch?

No — just a device with internet and the BAND App.

Is this the same as a real feis?

It's a real, official competition — just held online. Same judges, same scoring, same glory.

What if my dancer can't perform live?
